Founded by Jonathan Wang in 2017, EOS is building a next-generation real estate investment platform based on a belief that kind and curious people with deep sector expertise will generate enduring outperformance. Our vertically integrated hospitality investment strategy was what started it all. Since inception in 2017, we have grown our hospitality investment platform to own more than 40 hotels totaling more than 4,000 rooms and $1.4 billion of AUM across a portfolio of urban and resort hotels, managed by our purpose-built hotel operating platform, EOS Hospitality. We invest with strong conviction that people’s desire for travel, accommodations, and experiences will continue to grow and that aligning ownership and management incentives creates the optimal structure to maximize investment returns. We seek to find the markets and assets within this landscape where the supply/demand dynamics are favorable, the attributes and location of the asset are unique, and our operating and capital investment capabilities add value. And at our core, our deep market expertise and long-standing relationships aim to unlock value that others may not see.
Our Residential strategy, launched in 2023 in partnership with Nicole Sermier, is predicated on casting a wide lens across all housing sectors and maintaining a disciplined approach. We invest across for-rent and for-sale housing sectors. We believe the ongoing need for shelter provides secular tailwinds, while our breadth of experience across housing categories and investment structures enables us to optimize risk/return through the real estate cycle.
Our newest strategy builds on our vertically integrated hotel investment and operating platform and extends our hospitality ecosystem into sector-focused lending. Led by Christopher Jordan, the former EVP and Group Head of Hospitality Finance and Specialty Real Estate Finance at Wells Fargo, EOS Credit Partners will directly originate first mortgage whole loans and mezzanine loans secured by high-quality hotel and resort properties throughout the U.S. Our goal is to build the leading hotel lending platform to fill the void created by banking regulations and the continued evolution of diversified private real estate credit funds. Our reputation, decade-long relationships, and expertise in hotel lending, hotel ownership, and hotel management give us unique advantages to create great outcomes for borrowers and investors alike.
